How to add a review widget to Shopify

Most Online Store 2.0 themes, Dawn included, have a Custom Liquid section. That is all the widget needs.

Import your reviews
In Shapo, add a source and paste your store URL, or pick Google, Trustpilot or any other review site.

Design the widget
Choose a grid, carousel, list or badge, pick the reviews to show and match your store's colours and font.

Open the theme editor
In Shopify, go to Online Store, then Themes, then Customize, and open the page you want the reviews on.

Paste and save
Add a Custom Liquid section, or a Custom Liquid block on product pages, paste the widget code and click Save.

Do I need to install a Shopify app?

No. A Shapo widget is a short embed code. Paste it into a Custom Liquid section in the theme editor and save. Nothing else is added to your theme, and deleting the section removes the widget.

Can each product page show its own reviews?

Yes. Tag reviews by product when you import them or afterwards, and make a widget that shows only that tag. Shopify lets you give a product its own template, so each product can carry its own widget.

Will the widget slow down my store?

The embed script loads asynchronously and the widget renders in its own frame, so your page draws first and the reviews appear right after.

Which Shopify review apps can I import from?

Judge.me, Okendo, Yotpo, Loox, Ali Reviews, Stamped and Reviews.io. Paste your store URL into the Shopify Store source and Shapo finds the app for you. If your app is not on the list, export its reviews as a CSV and import the file.

Can I get star ratings in Google search results?

Shapo can add review schema for the reviews your widget shows, which is what Google reads for review stars. Whether Google shows the stars is up to Google.

How much does it cost?

The free plan keeps up to 10 testimonials with unlimited widgets and forms. Pro is $29 a month for unlimited imports, auto-sync with your review apps and no Shapo branding.
