Shapo - Collect and display reviews and testimonials with widgets

Shapo Updates

What's new in Shapo: widget analytics, AI surveys, store reviews and your own domain

Shapo now shows views, visitors and clicks for every widget, runs AI, NPS and feedback surveys, imports reviews from WooCommerce and Shopify review apps, and puts your Wall of Love on your own domain.

What's new in Shapo, September 2026: an analytics chart beside a review import card

Here is what we shipped in Shapo in September. Five of the changes are worth a few minutes of your time, and each one below says where to find it in your dashboard and which plan it is on.

See which widget is doing the work

Every widget, form, Wall of Love and Review Booster page now has its own analytics: views, visitors and clicks per day, a comparison with the previous period, and the pages that send it the most views. Click the numbers on any row in your widget or form list to open them. The widget list also sorts by views, visitors or clicks, which is the quickest way to find the reviews people actually read and the placements nobody scrolls to.

Review Booster counts clicks per review link, so you can see whether customers pick Google, Trustpilot or another site when you give them the choice. Visitors are counted without third-party cookies. The numbers start from mid-September, when collection went live, and update within a minute.

Bring in your store reviews with one paste

Online stores rarely keep their reviews on the store platform itself. On Shopify they live in a review app, and on WooCommerce they sit on each product page. Shapo now imports them from five new sources: WooCommerce, Okendo, Yotpo, Loox and Ali Reviews. You paste your store's address. There is no API key to create and nothing to install on the store.

If you are on Shopify and not sure which review app your theme uses, choose Shopify Store as the source and Shapo finds it for you. Trustpilot product reviews can be imported now as well, and Yelp reviews are fetched newest first, so auto-sync picks up every new one. That brings Shapo to 30+ review sources. The new sources work on every plan; auto-sync and importing up to 1,000 reviews at once are on Pro. The full store reviews update has the details for each app.

Find out why, not just how many stars

Surveys were rebuilt from scratch and come in three kinds. An AI survey asks follow-up questions the way you would in person, so you get the reason behind an answer instead of a lone checkbox. An NPS survey works out the score for you. A feedback survey is the short version for "anything we should fix?".

AI survey
AI

Thanks for shopping with us! What made you pick the trail runners?

You

Mostly the reviews, and I needed something for wet trails.

AI

Good to know. How did they hold up on the wet trails so far?

You

Great grip. The laces come loose though.

AI

That is useful, thank you. Would a lace lock have helped, or a different lace?

Each question is written from the answer before it.

Any of them can sit inline on a page or behind a small floating button in the corner of your site. You can also send the invite link by email, or through a Shapo email campaign to your customer list. The free plan includes one survey and shows its first ten responses. Pro has unlimited surveys and responses, plus AI insights that group what people said.

Ask your own questions on testimonial forms

Collection forms can now ask custom questions, like which product someone bought or how they found you. A dropdown can map each option to a tag, so reviews sort themselves onto the right product page as they arrive. The answers stay private: they show on the testimonial in your dashboard and in the CSV export, never on a widget.

The form analytics page adds up the answers to each custom field.

The form's analytics page summarises every field, down to the share of people who ticked each checkbox. Free forms get 2 custom fields and Pro forms get 10. We wrote up the questions worth asking if you want a starting point.

Your Wall of Love on your own domain

Pro workspaces can put the Wall of Love and the Review Booster page on a subdomain they own, like reviews.yourcompany.com. The link in your proposals says your name instead of ours, and search engines index the reviews as part of your site.

DNS records at your provider

TXT_shapo.reviews = shapo-verify=7f3a...CNAMEreviews = custom.shapo.io

Two DNS records, then Shapo issues the certificate.

Open the Custom Domain section in either editor, add the TXT and CNAME records it shows you, and click Check status. Once both are found, Shapo issues the HTTPS certificate and the page is live. The TXT record stays in place because Shapo checks it again every month, so a domain cannot outlive a change of owner. How custom domains work covers the rest.

Smaller things

The Review Booster and Wall of Love editors have a new sidebar and a phone and desktop preview, so you see the page the way a customer on a phone does. The dashboard itself now fits a phone screen, from the widget list to the editors.

If something here does not work the way you expect, reply to any email from us or open the chat in your dashboard. It reaches the people who built it.
